The exact details of the sneak peek are unknown at this point — we don’t know what will be shown, though I might be on the same seven minutes or so that were shown in Japan not long ago, which will likely set up some of the early story with Peter Parker’s lost parents. The footage could also be more or less the same reel that was shown at Comic Con last summer.

Sadly, it seems like the selection of cities in which the sneak peek will take place is pretty limited. Right now the US website mentions Berlin, London (which seems to be sold out), LA, Madrid, Mexico City, Moscow, NYC, Paris, Rio, Rome, Seoul, Sydney, and Tokyo.

It’s great that this is an international promo, but there will be many people outside those few cities that want to see whatever Sony is cooking up. ComingSoon reports that advertising is going up in Rio, New York and LA in addition to the London projections, and I’d expect that more will be seen in the other cities, too.

Arthur Miller’s Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece Death of a Salesman, in a new production directed by eight-time Tony Award® winner Mike Nichols and starring Academy Award® winner Philip Seymour Hoffman as Willy Loman, Obie Award winner Linda Emond as Linda Loman and Andrew Garfield (The Social Network, The Amazing Spider-Man), making his Broadway debut as Biff Loman.

The original play opened in 1949 with Lee J. Cobb in the role of Loman, and subsequent revivals featured Dustin Hoffman and Brian Dennehy. Hoffman had been expected to take the Loman role, but the surprise is Garfield. He worked with Rudin in the David Fincher-directed The Social Network, before emerging in a wide search with the role of young Peter Parker in the 3D reboot The Amazing Spider-Man, which is being directed by Marc Webb. Garfield started his career in the theater in the UK. His stage credits there include The Laramie Project and Romeo & Juliet.

Columbia Pictures has announced that a second installment of the rebooted franchise will be released on May 2, 2012.

The first weekend in May traditionally heralds the start of the summer blockbuster season.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans, The Amazing Spider-Man is a reboot of the Sam Raimi franchise that starred Tobey Maguire in the titular role.

Speaking about the new Spider-Man at last month’s Comic Con, Garfield said: “I think that we all wish we had the courage to stick up for ourselves more, to stick up for a loved one more, or even a stranger you see being mistreated, and Peter Parker has inspired me to feel stronger. He made me, Andrew, braver.”

The Amazing Spider-Man is released on July 3, 2012.

The cast and crew of the highly-anticipated Marvel superhero reboot “The Amazing Spider-Man” will discuss the movie for the first time at Comic-Con San Diego, which runs July 21 – 24.

Rumors have been swirling that the cast of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” DreamWorks’ “Real Steel” and Universal Pictures’ “Cowboys and Aliens” are just some of the other films in attendance, but those panels have not been officially announced by either the studios or Comic-Con itself.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Spider-Man back to Comic-Con – it’s an exciting place to give the fans an inside look into what the new Spider-Man film is all about,” said Sony’s Marc Weinstock in a press release.

Directed by Marc Webb (“(500) Days of Summer”), the film stars Andrew Garfield (“Social Network”), Emma Stone (“Easy A”), Martin Sheen, Sally Field and Rhys Ifans.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” opens nationwide in 3D July 3, 2012.
